We love having your Elementary kids at PPCC! Programming for children is offered at the 9:15 am and 11:00 am services. Our goal is to use your child’s energy, excitement, and creativity to help them continually grow in Jesus. Here are three things we want you to know:
We Take Safety Seriously
All of the leaders in our rooms are background checked and trained in their specific area. Each room contains at least two adults at all times. We have detailed bathroom policies to keep your children safe. Our strict check-in and check-out system confirms that children leave with the correct adults. For more information on our safety and security policies, feel free to check out our Kidmin Policy Book or contact a staff member.
We Have a Strategy
NextGen ministry at PPCC works together to help children grow in faith during every life phase. By the time a child moves from Elementary to Middle School ministry, we want them to know three things:
- I need to make the wise choice.
- I can trust God no matter what.
- I should treat others the way I want to be treated.
Additionally, we recognize that parents and guardians should be the primary spiritual influence in their child’s life. Thus, our strategy is to partner with and support you in this endeavor. We love to provide resources to help you be the best parent or guardian you can be. For more information, click here.
We Have Fun!
We want your child to enjoy coming to church! By utilizing exciting, age-appropriate activities and creative environments, we provide fun-filled programming that will help your child grow. We use a Large Group/Small Group format. In Large Group, the Power Up team–a group of older elementary children and teenagers–leads high-energy worship followed by an engaging lesson. Then children move into Small Group time where they are connected with a consistent adult who helps them apply the lesson to life and leads them in relevant games & activities.
What to expect on your first Sunday morning:
- When you bring your kindergarten-4th grader to PPCC for the first time, a volunteer will help you register your family at the New Families Counter.
- Your child will be placed in a group based on grade level.
- A volunteer will explain our check-in and check-out sticker system and will walk you to your child’s room.
- Your child’s leader will greet you at the door to the room, welcome you, and answer any questions you might have.
Elementary Coordinator–Sydney Stoltzfus (sstoltzfus@yes2God.org)
Sydney and her husband Chad both graduated from Northwest Nazarene University in Idaho but didn’t actually meet until 2 years after Sydney finished school and were married in June of 2009. They began attending PPCC when they moved to the Widefield-Security area in 2012. Sydney soon got connected by volunteering with the 1st and 2nd graders. Eventually, she was asked to join the staff in May of 2017. Before this, she was an elementary and junior high teacher for eight years. Sydney and Chad have three amazing sons: Aaron (5), Ethan (3), and Isaiah (1). Sydney enjoys date nights, family outings, hiking, rock climbing, singing, watching musicals, reading, games, VBS, teaching, and spending time with friends and family. Her favorite parts of working at PPCC are helping families connect with Jesus, forming small groups, and taking care of volunteers.
Children’s Pastor–Jace Martin (jmartin@yes2God.org)
Jace and his beautiful wife Kendall moved to Colorado Springs to serve at PPCC in June 2017 after finishing up at Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri. Growing up together in a small town in Indiana, Jace and Kendall were high-school sweethearts before getting married in 2014. Jace loves playing and watching sports, exercising, reading, and hiking. Developing relationships with kids & families and caring for volunteers excite him, and he enjoys getting to do that in a really cool church!
