Base Camp: /ˈbās ˌkamp/ (n.)–the place from which expeditions begin.
We recognize that following Jesus is a lifelong expedition. Therefore, PPCC’s Early Childhood Ministry (birth-5yrs) seeks to be a safe, sturdy basis from which our children can follow Christ.
We love having your kids at PPCC! We offer programming for children at the 9:15 am and 11:00 am services. Here are three things we want you to know:
We Take Safety Seriously
All of the leaders in our rooms are background checked and trained in their specific area. We maintain small adult-children ratios in our rooms to ensure that every child is safe. Our strict check-in and check-out system confirms that children leave with the correct adults. For more information on our safety and security policies, feel free to check out our Kidmin Policy Book or contact a staff member.
We Have a Strategy
NextGen ministry at PPCC works together to help children grow in faith during every life phase. By the time a child moves from Base Camp to Ascent (elementary), we want them to know three things:
- God made me
- God loves me
- Jesus wants to be my friend forever
Additionally, we recognize that parents and guardians should be the primary spiritual influence in their child’s life. Thus, our strategy is to partner with and support you in this endeavor. We love to provide resources to help you be the best parent or guardian you can be. For more information, click here.

We Have Fun!
We want your child to enjoy coming to church! By utilizing exciting, age-appropriate activities and creative environments, we provide fun-filled programming that will help your child grow.
What to expect on your first Sunday morning:
- When you bring your baby or pre-schooler to PPCC for the first time, a volunteer will help you register your family at the New Families Counter.
- Your child will be put in a room based on age. Our rooms are divided into Infants, Walkers, 2 year-olds, 3 year-olds, and 4-5 year-olds.
- A volunteer will explain our check-in and check-out sticker system and will walk you to your child’s room.
- Your child’s leader will greet you at the door to the room, welcome you, and answer any questions you might have.
Base Camp Staff
Base Camp Coordinator–Jessica Janish (jjanish@yes2God.org)
Jessica began attending PPCC 13 years ago. She met her husband Matt when he was hired to work for her father as a small diesel mechanic. They started dating in March of 2004, were engaged in October of 2004, and married in June 2005. They have three awesome kids: Jackson (8), Xander (7), and Natalie (4). Jessica enjoys sports, woodworking, camping, four-wheeling, and spending time with her family & friends. Her favorite part of working at PPCC is the fact that it’s like working with family.
Children’s Pastor–Jace Martin (jmartin@yes2God.org)
Jace and his beautiful wife Kendall moved to Colorado Springs to serve at PPCC in June 2017 after finishing up at Ozark Christian College in Joplin, Missouri. Growing up together in a small town in Indiana, Jace and Kendall were high-school sweethearts before getting married in 2014. Jace loves playing and watching sports, exercising, reading, and hiking. Developing relationships with kids & families and caring for volunteers excite him, and he enjoys getting to do that in a really cool church!
