Welcome to the Healthy Marriages page!Our church family is committed to helping marriages be healthy because we know that strong families normally begin with healthy marriages. We believe that there are several things that you can do to increase the likelihood of your marriage flourishing:
- Pursue and live out an intimate relationship with Jesus Christ. Your relationship with Him has to come first before anything or anybody else!
- Pray! Pray as an individual and with your better half.
- From right now, never even consider divorce; don’t even let the D-word ever cross your lips.
- Get in a LifeGroup with your spouse or the person you are dating or engaged to. God created us to need and long for Biblical community where we can be prayed for, cared for, challenged and held accountable and where we can learn how to apply the truth of God’s Word to our daily lives.
- Get a handle on and have a plan for your personal finances. Don’t be a slave to debt! Did you know Jesus spoke about money more often than any other subject in the N.T.?
- Be willing to get better at your marriage. Do WHATEVER it takes—read a book, watch a DVD, go to marriage conferences/retreats, get counseling (don’t look at it as negative but as a positive investment in your marriage!), establish a regular date night, don’t have cable or Dish—even get rid of your TV(s) or computer! NOTHING after salvation is worth losing your family.
